You say you're Spider-Man
And yes, you can climb walls
But with that spider-sense of yours,
Could you never see the way I looked at you?
It seems your miraculous spider-powers
Fell dreadfully short on that.
Could you not see the way I blushed when you came in the room,
Stammered when I tried to talk to you?
Didn't that spider-sense of yours tell you
The way my heartbeat quickened, sitting near you?
I would watch you, admire you
I always laughed at your jokes
I thought you were the greatest thing alive
But your spider-sense didn't tell you that, I guess.
All you saw was a little section-mate
Slightly giddy, slightly goofy, perhaps
You never really saw me, not the way I wanted to be seen
Your spider-sense never told you that, did it?
I like that this was fun, but serious, too. The creativity of the subject had me holding on for dear life. I couldn't wait to see what came next. I could relate to the woman wanted to be noticed, but could see how he could believe her only to be friendly. I've been on both sides and reading it from both point of views was incredible. Thanks for sharing your work.
