Out here on my island
things are pretty peaceful.
And out here on my island
There aren’t any worries at all.
Out here on my island,
the scenery is beautiful.
The tide moves in each night
to wash away any pain.
And out here on my island
time doesn’t exist.
I have a connection with heaven,
and I never hear bad news.
But out here on my island
it can start to get kind of lonely.
And out here on my island
you can only love from afar.
So I jump in water,
and I start to swim to the mainland.
And when I finally reach the shoreline
I see people everywhere.
On their enormous island,
which is really just as beautiful.
But they’re giving up on loving it
and they’re light is growing dim.
So I try to do what I can
to make their island look like my island.
Someplace pretty peaceful,
Someplace with no worries at all.
But it’ll never be my island.
So I keep on swimming back and forth.
Because out here on my island,
is the place I really love.
