Hard Freeze on a Mid September Night

Folder:
4-Pain

I believed in fairy tales, I guess I believed in lies.

I believed in hopelessness, because I saw it in her eyes.

She has a strong desire for her wants.

I have a strong desire for my needs.

She just keeps on chopping down

while I keep on planting seeds.

You say you're not happy, so leave if you must.

Because the more you want your independence

the more I feel a lack of trust.

You think it's just getting old.

But I see it starting to rust.

You said always believe in love at first sight,

I do, I just call it lust.

I tried to sing the songs, she tried to do the dances.

She thought the first time should be a charm.

I believe in second chances.

I cried an ocean of tears, she cried a lake.

She called it a darn good try.

I call it a mistake.

She calls it too hard to deal with, I call it the past.

She says the future's to far away.

I can see it coming fast.

I thought the cup was half empty,

but that's no reason to throw away the cup.

She thought I was blind, because I had my eyes covered up.

She tried to forfeit, I tried to finish the game.

She never would admit she was wrong.

I never would take the blame.

She wanted to find something else, she just didn't know what.

Now she calls herself free. I call her a slut.

You say you're not happy, so leave if you must.

Because the more you want your independence

the more I feel a lack of trust.

You think it's just getting old.

But I see it starting to rust.

You said always believe in love at first sight,

I do, I just call it lust.
