I remember that day like it was yesterday,

and I know things got way out of hand.

But I knew time was short and someone had to take a stand.

When our eyes first met I knew I had to get you out

into my car.

And tell you just how beautiful you are.



Lovely little Lawton lady.

You know you look so good.

And I'd have done anything to help you if I possibly could.



I realize that death is a terrible thing.

But we can't look at it as the end.

If I'd have known him I'd have probably been his best friend.

But I do care so much and I wanted your touch.

I didn't mean to cause such a mess.

I really don't know if I should have done more or less.

The last thing that I remember seeing was you

lying unconscious on the floor.

I held back the tears as your mother shut the door.

I couldn't see you again, not even as friends,

and now it's been so long.

But I can still think back and the memories seem so strong.
