My grandmothers name is Flora but since I was Little because I didn’t knew how to pronounce very well I started to call her Tita because abuelita was a very difficult word for me when I was like 1 or 2 years. Since that time that is the name we kept for her, she is now eighty two years old but if you see her she does not seem as her age she looks younger she is so filled with life.

Since I was born my grandparents have lived next door, and our houses connect trough the patio, so I see her every day. When I was younger I didn’t had the best relationship with her because I was very close to my grandfather, I would be with him almost every part of the day, we did many things together, he used to take me with him to every place he went so because of that my grandmother was not my favorite person at the time because I had so much fun with my grandpa.

But ten years ago my grandfather past away and that made me become closer with my grandmother at first I was always with her because she was very sad for the lost but with the time I started really to enjoy spending time with her because I had never took the opportunity to really get to know her. She is a really nice person she learned to drive when she was fifty years old, for me it’s very funny because we are so used that everyone knows how to drive these days that knowing someone that didn’t drive until age fifty its hilarious. 

She met my grandfather at the bank they both used to work and when they got married she decided not to work anymore because she wanted to be able to take care of their children. This is an example for me because I really see the heart of my grandmother because she knew really what having a kid is all about, it’s not just having them and making them fit in your life it’s all the other way it’s fitting their life into yours because children need guidance and values in order to become humble and carrying human beings.

My grandmothers dream was accomplished because she took care of her kids and they are really good persons, so when she knew her work had been done now she could retake her life so she decided to start working again even though the age barrier was an important fact, but even with all that she accomplished what she really wanted and learned how to drive and worked again. She used to take me to my friends houses when my mom couldn’t it wasn’t many times but she was always there for me.
