But Here I Am

You want me as your enemy. I want you as my friend.

You are looking for the wrong exit. There is no escape from hate. Cry if you are a man, men are not supposed to be afraid.

I don’t hate you. I just want you to be my friend.

I used to love you, but not anymore. You broke my heart, but here I am. Please don’t get me wrong. She left you, like you did with me. It is not big deal, you will get over it.

This things happen everyday, but now you know how it feels.

But here I am, next to you like a real friend.

You opened my eyes to the cruel life. Maybe I was just a little dumb girl that didn’t know what was it to wake up to the real world.

But here I am, your mirror that reflects your mistake.

Don’t make thing look difficult, just cry and stop when your tears can’t come out. That’s what I did. Now I am fine. And look at me. I don’t laugh , like you did.I try to help you, so you can realize that hate is not a good way to act.You destroyed my dreams, but here I am. So you can see it is not hard to forgive.Maybe I won’t forget, the reason of my pain.

This is a lesson that life gives you. Remember what you give is what you get.

But here I am, like a diary that keeps your secrets that you don’t want them to be reveal. I confess that I want to celebrate. That I am glad that you came back to me. But here I am, like a pillow where you can rest your head. Tell me what is this all about. She played with you. It is not important at all. Notice I don’t love you. I just feel sorrow . This is the effect of your error. Now you know how I felt. But I am here, like a loyal friend. Forgive her mistake and don’t hate. Continue with your life in a good way. You will see how things changed.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem is about cause and effect. and that you have to think first before you act. This is reality in a lot of couples out there

I want to let you know I have written a poem about being a diary after reading this poetic piece of yours. I'll credit you when I post under Abstract. It's called, "Parchment Safe."

I like your comparison of yourself to being an open diary. It's a wonderful correlation and inspiring.

I am amazed by your ability to tell stories within your poetry... it is quite magical.
A lot of things stood out in this piece, your comment at the end included.
The last stanza (the mention of the diary) was great, i found that to be such a lovely comaprison. Also the way you close it off is great.

I saw your critique on my site and wanted to say *Thank you* and return the favor. I wish i spoke spanish, but i dont, so i read the three in english instead. I thought this was the best, you use simple words to create images that really gets the ida across! Fantastic! Keep it up!
