The Lost World

Swallowed by the deep blue

No light shines on thee

Buried below the surface

Yet, they beauty isn’t lost

Far from the world above

A new life is born

Deep into the ocean’s womb

Thy shall rest forevermore

Lost, but not forgotten

I chant thy name aloud

Hoping to find thee one day

So the light may shine again

Atlantis, I await thee

Like the shore awaits the sea

Drowned in thy beauty

The tale shall be told…

Author's Notes/Comments:

Probally my first non-personal poem. It's written for a writers group. The theme was: the ocean, so I wrote a poem, based on the tale of Atlantis.
