The Struggle

Desire There is a fight inside of us.
It never leaves,
and requires constant
attention.
Needing to be mindful
not fullfilling fantasies.
The desire is strong,
wanting to give in.
Do I persue with this in mind,
my sole purpose?
I think not.
These are traits,
the flesh, the carnality
that we all have.
Yet it lives within us.
Dormant for some, active for others,
and waking in me.
The thoughts linger,
but do not take shape.
Actions do not take flight.
They will stay as they are,
nothing more.
The struggle continues.
