The idea behind every relationship is to build a bridge.
To bring two people together and bridge the gap.

Every so often bridges burn or the foundations
start to crumble.

The friendship is either on the rocks
or it's completely over.

But what if the friendship never took flight?
You thought a friendship existed when it really didn't.
You are an acquaintance at best.

Easily ignored and forgotten.
But you thought you were important.

Unfortunately a bridge is what you wanted.
What you built was actually a pier.
