Hell of a Job (for my mom)

Hell of a Job

(Written By:¨Matt Michaud)

Nothing in the world compares to the comfort of my mother

You see she can heal a wound while I’m hurt like no other

She’d sing me songs when I couldn’t sleep

Make me stew that I wouldn’t eat and tell me that it’s good for me.

So mom I just want to you see

You show me love me with words unspoken

Put up with me when my “legs are broken”

You answer the phone when the principal calls

And tell him I’ll take the bus and walk

You’ve taught me how to survive

Without you it just wouldn’t be right

My age with already one,

There’s things you do that can’t be done

I can’t complain

You did a hell of a job raising your son

Nothing in the world compares to the comfort of my mother

She’s made the best she could of me and my brother

She’d wake us up with a funny song

She still does it today because some things never change

It’ll always be the same because I love you mom

Mom I still don’t know how you got by

Work and school with us and never seen you cry, or

Complain that it’s too much you can’t go on

If I’ve learnt from that it’s that I’ve gotta be strong

My age with already one,

There’s things you do that can’t be done

I can’t complain

You did a hell of a job raising your son

You put me on track when I was stirred

Told me you loved me when I was hurt

Even when I struggled with weight

You said I was handsome and still looked great

So mom whenever you’re feeling down

Remember what you went through to get us off the ground.

My age with already one,

There’s things you do that can’t be done

I can’t complain

You did a hell of a job raising your son

This is a beautiful ode to your mom. I'm sure if she read it it brought tears to her eyes. I'm a mom and I know just reading it it did to mine. Bravo for you,so nice to see a guy love and respect his mom this way.....
