some thought there would be a new dimension
many had electric dimensia
boiled over all of the tension
did the cooks, already welldone books
positions taken, earthquakes shaken
by devise and design
everyone held their breathe
now if you don't there's a fine
on paper now, you still lose your life
nineteen eighty four is two thousand twelve
air's taxed and tubes are tied
the stomach and reproductive lines
just one scoop of gruel and one child, this time
live a while, suffer longer, and die
some trusted in the new solution
many had electric fantasia
boiled skin of all of the idols
did the cooks, already fattened through
the sizzles baking, global warming
by devise and design
everyone held their breathe
living still don't realize the lie
bag paper now, you still lose your life
nineteen eighty four is two thousand twelve
air's taxed and tubes are tied
the stomach and reproductive lines
just one scoop of gruel and one child, this time
live a while, suffer longer, and die
some thought they would be the ones benefiting
many had religious armeggedon
boiled over all of the tension
did the cooks, already welldone books
positions taken, the war was coming
by devise and design
everyone held a piece
now all the dead see themselves
the pawns they were, you'll still lose your life
nineteen eighty four is two thousand twelve
steel cage and tubes are tied
the stomach and reproductive lines
just one scoop of gruel and one child, this time
live a while, suffer longer, and die
the sizzles baking, oven warming
with people inside
all the rest held their breathe
as the cooks, preprepped dinner cooked
outsiders, the unwanted
the hated, the t'v blacklisted
the distrust, report you must
rat you did, it's twenty twelve
they're dead,..you live...
call it what you wish
say your alive
slop your dish
forget what you missed
pretend you're not occupied
pretend you're not gonna die....
and when i see you on the other side
cause i hit the bricks flailing my fists
a long time ago..
for you, though i lost hope
knew you didn't care to even cope
but still didn't want to see you go
hoped you'd learn and tell your children so
hoped that someday the world returns to its roots
but yea, when i see you on the other side
do me a favor, when you see that mirror
when you pick up the rock to heal it
the regret and the dirt you're covered in
think of that child in palestine
who threw a rock and got bombed and you acted it was just fine
then look up.
it's twenty twelve....
WOW
This would make an epic set of lyrics for a concept album, maybe somewhere between pink floyd and frank zappa. I really like the structure and the consistency as the thoughts progress, I'm also intrigued by the idea of electric dimensia.
I have only one critique of the line "hoped that someday the world returns to it's roots" you have a misplaced apostrophe. (Yes, I am a grammar cop: it's = it is)
Long, overdue thank you for
Long, overdue thank you for this. Regarding the "it's" - yes, that's an old, unfortunate habit of mine. Don't tell my students :)
