One day as I walked along the seaside, I could not help

but think about you and our friendship,

            I always wanted a best friend...

I have looked all my life for a best friend, I thought I found one several times,

but they failed me....

            I alwasys wanted a best friend....

As I continued to walk on the beach,  I knelt down and picked up a handful of sand,

How many grains of sand was I holding in my hand? Hundreds...Millions...



I dropped the sand and knelt down to pick up another handful

and in all the grains of sand I found a tiny crystal,

A sparkling crystal, like a diamond, I kept it because of its beauty,



At that moment I thought about you and our friendship,

I looked for over twenty years for a friend,

And out of hundreds I had to choose from, I found you,

and because of your beauty I kept you,



Like a sparkling crystal or a diamond, you are precious

and priceless,

You mean so much to me, I would rather be poor and have you as a friend than be rich and be alone,
