I want to be the reason you smile
The reason there is light in your eyes
The reason you will not give up on love
The reason you have given up on lies.

I want to be the reason there is fire
The reason for you wanting to be better
The reason deep in your heart
The reason you write those love letters.

I want to be the reason you give in
The reason you go to sleep at night
The reason you do not hold back
The reason you want to make right.

I want to be the reason you try again
The reason you let her memory go
The reason to find a way to laugh
The reason for having someone to hold.

I want to be the reason you talk about
The reason for finding that someone new
The reason for wanting to move on
Because my reason has became you.

Author's Notes/Comments: 

Actually, a guy friend of mine inspired this. He doesn't know I write poetry but I really liked it when I wrote it and reread it. Maybe one day I'll tell him he gave me motive. No, I don't crush on him. He's just been telling me lately that I make him smile and then this popped into my head at 9am on Jan 4, 2010. It made me happy. I felt like it would some how complete my collection since I don't think I will be writing anymore.
