Older Poems, (2005 - 2008) I met her in my theatre class
She was smart and funny. She was okay.
I didn't believe what I heard
I didn't actually think she was gay.
We talked about stuff she did
I had questions for her to get clear
I didn't know that going that far
Would make it seem like i was sincere.
She wrote me after ever block
We even ate lunch together
I thought we'd be best friends
Almost forever.
One day, she came to me with a problem
She said she liked someone younger
I didn't think anything of it
Until I couldn't take it any longer.
I found out she had a crush on me
It started to change my world
How could someone that's "funny"
Make me come furled?
I'm not gay. I dont like her.
I just wanted to be her friend
Because she's gay..
Our friendship had to end.
If this piece is a true piece about someone who was your friend and gay,why did the friendship have to end? If she stated her interest in you,you could have been honest and told her her lifestyle is not one you choose but you could remain friends nonetheless unless of course she could not accept that then I would agree the friendship would have to be disolved. I'm straight but have gay friends ,pagan friends, etc. It is merely a lifestyle choice,not the end of the world. It almost seems like gaybashing,correct me if I'm wrong but that is how it strikes me. To bash any group is to put distance between all in the body human and we want to connect,no reject and disconnect...
