Hurricane Katrina

If you were like me, the news you ignore

The hurrican news was such a bore

Up until last night on the radio

I didn't know how it'd all go.

I listened close as the tears fell

Softly, landing on my pillow

Wondering why God would do this and cause so much pain

For many they'll never see tomorrow because of the hurricane.

Children frezzing in the cold night

Makes me wake up and see the light

My pain soon fades, I have it so well

All this time I thought I was in hell.

Kids that won't see their parents ever again

Parents that won't see their kids ever again

Why God, Oh please answer me this:  "Why,

Did you cause Hurricane Katrina making millions die?"

Being in this house that I am

Wondering why I never gave a damn

I try to tell my parents I love them

Because I might not have the chance again.

"Listen to Your Heart"  plays on

Remembering all the ones who's gone

I know some how and some way

God will make it all okay.

Just pray, feel, and most of all believe

The ones who've gone didn't really leave

They will be remembered through out it all

Just they cannot answer when their name you call.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Inspiried by Kee [100.5] radio station... they played "Listen to Your Heart" with some hurrican stories... I wrote this at about 2am this morning... It's sad to think about how life works and how people say it will be okay... how can you tell a 6 year old that both of his/her parents are gone?

This was a well balanced poem, when I was reading the part why God and then the bottom I read just showed that we are all going through the emotions of hurricane Katrina
It's so sad, everytime I watch it, I would cry. That's true we all need to pray for all those people and never stop praying.

This is brilliant... what an image it paints, what visions of human disaster yet endeavour can be taken from this. A fantastic summary of thoughts, well done!
