Amazement, this soul holds love

Through the pain of what had been

My blackened heart holds another

So onward to battle we begin

To keep from pushing until the break

Quelling the urges to only take

Now I see so fully

Those broken parts of me

We begin to journey, to hold close

No great push nor shove

Cautiously I claim this love

I will not again compare to him

This is different, outside to in

I love deeply, this bold heart and style

So I am asking, can I keep this a while?

amazingly my soul does love again

though it was torn apart

my little black heart

has grown to hold another within

and so the battle does begin

to keep form pushing until they break

to keep them from only giving as i only take

because now i can fully see

the broken parts of me

and now i will begin to love

to hold another close instead of a push or shove

because this one is not compared to him

he is different outside and within

this one i want to keep for awhile

not forever but he is worth the while
