Late at night I'll sit alone

and wonder what might have been

if you wouldn't have gone away,

and if we were more than "just friends".

I always wanted to hold you close

and make everything alrite.

Then, whenever you need me most

in the darkness I'll be your light.

Turn around and there I am.

I'll be your sunshine through the rain.

Spend my life with you, if I can,

and be your happiness through all your pain.

I want to let you know how much I care,

it shouldn't be any surprise.

To always have something special to share,

and be your honesty through all your lies.

I want to slip away from reality

for just a moment in time.

To think about what I wish could be,

if only you had been mine.
