My dad decides not to care,
When he decides we aren't worth it?

My grandpa ends up in the hospital,
Not knowing if this is the last time he'll be here for me?

I'm offered the things I can't deny,
Like when you come back or when the drinks start pouring?
If he's so real,
Then why does he give people shitty lives?
Isn't he supposed to be the ones we turn to in the time of need?

have you consitered that he is testing you? maybe god is trying to take care of the others with problems, people who are way worse off. i dont believe in a specific religion, if i did it would be some of my friends are "horrible" people, but they can be just as caring if not more,they are gay btw. but i think there's a god who made everything happen, maybe god started the big bang, and he made science. you dont need a religion, but everyone needs faith or a cushion to land on to. it keeps some clung to sanity.

I liked this response a very sensitive approach and the faith cusion, loved that. i often say a soft place to fall ive written many poems on this. Yes i believe there is a God who reveals himself in endless ways hopefully we each find our own wonderful revelations. Credit the good to the good, blame the bad on the bad, ultimately i think accountability is the most important, what we do that causes issues. Thanks :) cheers SS

Right there with you even though you ignored them the whole time... Believe in something that's beyond physical reach, life's too short to be grounded by self imposed limitations ;) besides romance is built on it, lol!
