In the house of laughter
Joy bubbled over.
Songs of birth, life, marriage
Death and resurrection.
But I sat mourning
Shadowed by shame,
Distorted, disobedient, disgraced,
Dancing with two clubbed feet
And singing out of key.
Then came the Lord of merriment,
No doubt to shun me, turn me out.
Gentle, He touched me saying,
“Have I not bought your shame?
Why do you bear the blame?
Dance my beautiful one, obedient and chaste.
Sing for my delight!”
And so, I danced and sang.
Beautiful! I felt filled with
Beautiful! I felt filled with the Holy Spirit when. I read this. Beautifully rendered etherial yet completely believable and reachable. Well done!
