my friend and i were talking today
about how our generation was raised
on internet and video games.
and my wanderlust is no wonder,
i spent hours upon days gazing upon my handheld adventure
unfolding as i explored regions
and caught them all.

she told me that "we all have seen the same things.
we have played the same games, seen the same movies,
laughed at the same jokes."
and these mass-produced experiences
have told us who to be:
"the very best that no one ever was."
all conquistadors, seeking candy, fame, and jewels.

jewels. yes, my friend and i did in fact grow up on different video games,
she grew up on spyro, and i was a nintendo kid.
she became spyro, i became ash ketchum.
i traveled the land, searching far and wide
hoping to best the elite someday,
and she has trained herself to try to hide from God.

the majority of vagabonds my age grew up on the same games as i did,
listened to the same music in high school,
that satanic garbage i blasted in my ears,
about so-called freedom hopping trains
and being miserable for some reason.
(none of them can put their finger on it)
and they all ran away after graduation
"because there's nothing else to do."

the implications drive me wild.
are we truly being force-fed opinions and personalities?
are we slaves to ourselves?
are we mass produced machines?

someone needs to explain some things to me.

Pokémon

I had to come back to say.

I do know what pokemon was.

It was a fad my oldest son was into

With his friends at the time in grade school.

I tryed to tell him it was a fad but whatever:

He wasn't as bad as others.

Video games are entertainment

But a scourge. Some more addictive

Then others. Anyone can fall into the trap.

Back to my boys . They played with their friends.

Just sayin' . It it difficult to change a trend

When everyone is doing it.

I could write script and verse about it

As an observer.  You as a player have a take

That did encompass your generation more

Thus you can write from that perspective.

My kids are doing real good.

You are smart. Decide what you want to do.

And do it.

The world needs guys like you.

First Read

I do not know the references.

Thank God.

But I really like your perspective on things.

Be happy you are a seeker now.

All questions will never be answered until

You do meet your maker.

Be the Light you can be

For there is plenty of Darkness.

Keep up the Good work.

You are a good writer.

Brilliant Prose Poem

.

The inexplicable is so named for cause. We are the product of our times our encounters our games and work and laughter and tumbles. It is in rising from our downs that we find reason and purpose. Heaven is in our heads just where it belongs. Wishing you peace at Christmas. A pleasure to know you, lizardking ~(:D)- Stella
