The land of the free
That is what we
Pride ourselves
On being
And yet
We still can't wrap
Our heads around
The fact that
Black lives matter
Let alone anyone elses
So much so that there is
A movement for it
Because we let
Trigger happy cops
Who are racist
And have a god complex
Go without anyone
Telling them it's wrong
For too damn long
Black lives matter today
These peoples lives
Matter tomorrow
When will we get it
That life in general matters
And being a country
Constantly fighting
For the rights
We take advantage of
Having the freedom to
Take away for all
The wrong reasons
Isn't and has
Never worked
We need a new ideology
We need new ideas
And we need them fast
We cannot last this way
No we just cannot last
