The voice of a nation
Has been disregarded
Pushed aside 
By pride and for power
Of those in charge
Who will vote
Against public opinion
And what's right
Just to further benefit
The enemy
That benefits them
Those in the senate
That voted down reason
And the NRA
Friends and allies
I scratch your back
And you scratch mine
Against you
We finally rise

And let me tell you
It's about damn time
A good old fashioned sit in
How retro
Let's hope
For the sake
Of our country
Our lives, our world
That it actually works
Because face it society
We can't keep living
Like this anymore
What we are doing
The laws we have
In place already
And the attitude 
Towards this issue
And towards guns
In general
None of it's working
It never did
And no matter how long

We let it go on
Without doing something
It isn't ever 
Going to work
Wake up 
We tried things
The way they are
And the way they are failed
It's time for common sense
And it's time
For something new
