While you looked the other way,
He abused me everyday.
While you looked the other way,
I blamed you for all the things he did to me, you could have stopped but didn't, because you never believed any thing I had to say.
While you looked the other way,
For your mistakes I had to pay.
While you looked the other way,
He beat me every day.
While you looked the other way,
I grew to hate you a little more every day.
While you looked the other way,
I learned that there is one hell of a price your children pay,
While you look the other way.
I grew into the woman I am today,
While you looked the other way.
I grew strong enough to walk away.
While you looked the other way,
I grew up and changed,
While you looked the other way.
Now you are no longer part of my life, and it's sad it has to be this way,
But I can no longer look the other way.
Treat me how you will but my kids will not be treated this way,
Far to many times I looked the other way.
I made excuses for you time after time day after day,
But there came a time I could no longer look the other way.
I know you don't like me talking about it, but I refuse to go away,
I refuse to let others be hurt, I will not look the other way.
I will no longer carry your sins, that is a debt I refuse to pay,
I will not answer to why I looked the other way.
When you meet your maker one day,
What are you going to tell him, when he asks why you looked the other way?
