All for All

"All For All"   10-20-07

the dreamers aren't always with hope

dangling from a reality rope

we've woven a fabric to stand upon

the wear and fray for so long

we ride the ragged edge of wrong

as to compete on the size

all that we could capitalize

we've delved into subjects thin

and thickened our fragile minds

beyond the instincts we sought

higher planes of mind and thought

drinking dry the faith within

we're dreaming out from has-been's

sheltering hippos and sheep alike

we've given our flocks to the wolves

who prey, pluck and capitalize

while we 'bah' and carry along

to be sheared or sacrificed

red or blue has always been

fight or flight our spirit given

so we fight death with our minds

as historians charter lessons

and teachers act as captains

to force our row, pedalling forward

under whips and kind-words

all for all and none for one...
