a great fear of rejection

but she might be the exception

she might have the flare

go for it, chicken, if you dare

look, don't, look

stealing glances like a crook

but i'm still sitting here

quite content with my fear

the slug of inaction

a slow count to ten

i stand and head for the door

i'll get more beer at the store...
