I ended my obsession today

Saw thru it, bright as day



It hurt so much to see the truth

Its so ruthless, it hurts; the truth



I feel so free now, as free as a Dove

I will continue my life, as this Dove



I now have love and trust  for myself

I have something, a future for myself



This day, this bird, it's love I take

I start with a new world that I will make....

Author's Notes/Comments: 

Obsession is one of the greatest things to get out of -- really, it's a great feeling... that is until it takes you for ANOTHER spin.... it's relentless and depressing, shows how weak a person REALLY is... ow, I just diss'd myself...

obsession is a bitch, isnt it? you are right when you say that its a great feeling when you can find a way out of it. its not an easy thing to do though. seems damn near impossible sometimes.
i loved the line in your poem, "it hurt so much to see the truth". facing certain truths can be the most painful thing in the world to do.
i liked the hope in this poem. im totally one of those ppl who loves dark, depressing poems, but a little hope now and then is always a good thing.
