So when God himself came down out
of the blazing sky,
I just smoked a cigarette
I am a sinner and

I deserve to catch the fire
In fact I ache for an amen or
a last sighing breath
whatever's in the water here has
got me writhing out of my skin
and I told God that
and I invited him down to taste my
plundered youth
Perhaps he can tell me why or
when my spirit stepped aside
to let the devil in
I have never been so far gone,
so far away from any light
And I have never seen my soul so
fucking despaired
that I wish to kiss death a fourth time
