I swear I saw the devil,
smiling at me
he swarmed over my god son's body
still in womb
in situ
And I am sick
and scared
to speak the words...
even though i have seen the blood of the
unborn before
There is something more delicate about it,
the smell, more sweet and
the red just hoovers and puddles
I am the one who worked the machine,
removed the clumps from the filter
while everyone else just removed themselves from the room
I had stayed, to hold the hand of a
young mother
who still cries
holding her stomach
in the dead winter,
it is only fitting
that things should die

In Situ is derived from latin I do believe. It's widely used in the medical field.. and it means "in position" or "in waiting" basically.
"It is a terrible thing to be so open. It is as if my heart put on a face and walked into the world" -- Sylvia Plath.
