The spurt of red

is a kingdom flowing

I lay bare

ready for your teeth

Submission is more

than a slam against a door

it's emotional

raw like a terrible burn

And you've had me like that

But you didn't even ask

what I was

And now I push back

I can slap, tear, and scratch

make you wild like

I am the deepest canyon you have ever

but you won't know that

Not until you have ripped me

sideways like a howling thing

in the night

What more do you need?

You could break me open

like flower and stem

under foot

an afterthought after all

your loves have failed

Maybe you have had all of me

Maybe you don't know

what I really am

In the dark

your dark

doesn't scare me

"Submission is more than a slam against the door".  You're damn right it is! " In the dark your dark doesn't scare me".  That's a REALLY powerful punch, poet, and I love it!  What I get here on all my visits is Emotion. I don't read your words to read them. I come here because I feel them. That's what you got going on, poet... Seriously!

Heart rendering

and an empowering ending.

I devoured every word.

You have a lot of lines I fell in love with.

Great pen work.
