"Biting In The Dark I Might Break Your Heart"

Your eyes
look like a century of heartache
they skim me over from behind a half empty glass
It's a bad idea
but you know that

I want to take you home
and even remember your name in the morning

Next week I want to find your clothes and
have a reason to call you

My hands are always steady baby
So I will dial your number with purpose
and a sideways grin

I know what you want

I was paying attention after all.
