Thought It Was Safe To Go Back
Hadn't seen you in awhile.
Thought it was diminished.
Came across you
On a chance encounter.
And there you were.
And there I was.
I, nervous
But fine.
Until...
Our eyes
Became one.
I am lost.
I can feel myself
Drifting
As I babble.
You listen and smile.
I keep talking
So I don't
Have to let
You
Leave.
You let me go on.
Your eyes envelop me.
I can feel your lips.
Slowly I kiss you
Down along the edge of your bra.
My hands run the nape of your neck
And squeeze below the small of your back.
I push against you.
Kiss you again.
We become one.
Two disparate pieces of the jigsaw.
Somehow we found each other.
Fit, perfect.
Then,
Our eyes release.
I stop babbling.
Say goodbye.
I've been captured again...

don't you just love and hate moments like this one? I always wonder when I am in this spot if the other person is in the shame trap and we are both so busy trying to get free that we don't notice each other in the pit!

How many times that I have read this.
The delicacy in this is just breathtaking.
You entrap the reader as if you do not mean to.
Recollections from a memory...if I were standing close enough, then I too, could probably read the expressions upon the face as the eyes would give away secrets behind once closed doors.
In just the way that you wrote it...I felt it.
I hope one day to own something such as this in which you accomplished.
So bitter, but sweet, lonely, and yet...beautiful.
