Thy Dying Words (My Dying Prayer)

Folder:
Dark Poetry

I ask.

May death bring the peace, that in life, I overlooked…

Missed, judged, or maybe never found.

May it be the love I haven’t felt or experienced, the knowledge I never learned…may it bring what was not here nor there.

If this passing may be painful, early, or closer—know I do not fear it.

I fear my soul—my heart and mind—will never rest…forever wander beneath the curse of eternity.

So with this leave, may it be solace and completion that is waiting.

No gates, no gold—no fire, no shame—no recreation or repetition.

Just a serene, dreamless sleep.

This I pray.
