Simplicity

Dark Poetry

Deep breaths

to frozen lungs.

Cracking callously

are the ladder’s rungs.

Climb and fall

repeat the times

smile at stares

to the broken lines.

Patiently waiting

to cherish this grace.

Asphyxiate in velvet

strangle with lace.

Hunting in faith

the silence we hear.

Inanimate screams

the mute is now fear.

Blurring from edges

to decease all haunted.

Blades of burgundy death

now dull and daunted.

Passing through caverns

of imagined faces

suspension from gallows

are swept in these places.

Affix to the pattern

of inquisitive lies.

Hung from the hallow

the air slowly dies.

Pretending on feelings

and murderous glares

the difference of minds

disconnect pairs.

Stumble on phrases

while expressions are choked

then violent assurance

be simply provoked.

Watching as parting

fading into the scenes

the tainted resplendence

creeps in flawless dreams.

Crawling on shards

glass broken in shame.

Blood flows in somber

rivers so tame.

Weeping on altars

sinners, we bleed.

Crystal tears crimson

stain our unwritten creed.

Cradling the hopeless

we bask in our flaws.

Indelibly labeled

for our silent applause.

Escape into darkness

to beckon the call.

Malignant are we

the angels who fall.

Light emanates from us

we many disposed

endlessly wandering

halls of exposed.

Gracing us present

with horrid tears cried

the amaranth’s petals

have wilted and died.

Repetitive nature.

Banality sets in.

The monotonous bliss

briefly follows within.

Seeking out numbness

void inside to sight.

As emptiness seeps

to we without fight.

Lacking in virtue

seek piece to fill

this puzzle solution

split flesh, open still.

Sinking to fallen

the able reform.

Deception engulfs

to us willing forlorn.

Surviving through madness

our elation on hold

voices call out

resonating in cold.

Etching in pallid

skin so frail.

Stigmatized beauty,

a scar that veils.

Screaming in weakness

for bruises we hide.

Perambulate life

if only to die.
