My Idea of Romance

It felt so very good

To be in your arms again

I’d be with you if I could

But I first want to be your friend

This doesn’t mean rejection

It means you’re special

With this grows affection

And then boyfriend potential

Taking things slow

Is my idea of romance

Because then we’ll get to know

The beauty of a glance

The value of a kiss

The warmth of a stroke

The aroma of my body mist

The excitement of feelings provoked

It’s like being sprinkled with sparkle dust

Like getting caught in a fairy tale

When you realize it’s love not lust

When you can say, “My heart’s for sale”

It’s like swimming in a deep ocean

Discovering marvelous things all around

It’s like discovering new emotions

You are the treasure I just found

I just hope you feel it too

And know how much I’m worth

Because I really missed you

More than anyone in this earth

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem expresses how I missed this guy and felt for him but I wanted to take it slow because that was my idea of romance.Yes, I'm a hopeless romantic. By the way the guy wasn't one. oh well.
