There's a child involved
Who cries himself asleep;
There's a child involved
Who needs a father like me;
There's a child at stake,
If the state determines his fate;
Why can't we just get along,
Only for our baby's sake?
There's a child involved
And he took both of us to create.

We'd met not too long ago,
When things were a bit humble;
Had fun, I was too young to know,
Instead I sat back as we had crumbled;
I can't apologize enough
For my so bewildered ways,
But there's a child who had it tough
For the past few days.

There's a child involved

And he took both of us to create.

Now, we are both adults here,
And this child of our is innocent;
For he is need us both this year
Because he wasn't born self-sufficent;
I know we have a big difference,
But the child mimic us both;
So let us make a truce for his innocence
And always sustain that very same oath.
