RainMelt

sunset yearns coveting
painting skies dusk
succumbing to the darker feelings
of loneliness

night comes as a release
a safe haven hidden away
from a judging sun
saving me from the persecution of myself

wherein a love known
but not ever possessed
invades every fault
I place upon the alter of my life

stars offer hope
even when defeat waxes large
within my mind

an encouraging moon
glisters kaleidoscope dew
shimmering tonight’s landscape rainbow

my own heart’s
whispered honesty lays tender
upon midnight’s fiery hearth
inspiring such uninhibited possibility

I wander the valley of my soul
validating my journey’s truth
starwishes stir desire alive
from dreams that have long
been the marrow of my ache

love’s innocence denies
life’s boundaries
as 3 am renders me lost beneath
the essence of a touch that
I have never known

a rain fused breeze blows teal curtains
restless within the dance of a
storm yet to come

tender omissions echo soft
as arched thunder aches
summoning lightening spark
beckoning monsoons whimper
driving the urgency
of moments now lost in you

where starswept simplicity
births a lover’s fantasy
and one desert raindancer
finds salvation within
tempered longings
