One Lonely Night

and there in that place beyond falling stars
memories rain through the veil of time
falling tenderly upon unforgetting hearts
softly singing an eerie melody
that births crimson tears this night

silhouettes sway in moonlit shadows
as siren’s foretell of desires yet untouched
serenading restless yearnings awake
chanting of possibilities beyond reason
telling lies to dreamers minds
summoning passionate storms
from the depths under the sun
where all fading dreams go to die

and there in that place
in that broken moment of time
where nothing is real
that’s where she finds him
sitting upon her wishing star
whispering her name

and she closes her eyes…feeling him close
remembering all the things
that should have been forgotten

reliving every glance
every whisper
every touch

losing herself in dreamt of tomorrows
that can never truly be

desperately clinging to
to all her heart feels
ignoring what her mind
already knows as truth

she falls into his waiting arms
refusing to believe he’s not really there

all the while daring time itself
to try and take him from her dreams
