Life Lives Beautiful

beyond the subtle hush
of an early October dusk
there on the edge
of a cool autumn evening
I find a place beneath
the first glister of stars
where I marvel at
the expanse of it all

its amazing the affect
of feeling so large
and so small
all in one breath

my mind slowly spans
the many footprints
I have left behind
revisiting each smile
recapturing each hug
putting into perspective
the only moments
that really matter
in this life

there in that space
I am finally able to let go
of all the burdens of this day
and find a kind of peace
in the simplicity
of all the love I have
living inside of me

and a courage in knowing
whatever may come
I can and will handle it
with respect, honesty
and compassion
because where love grows
life lives beautiful
