I shouldn't have to come home in tears.

I shouldn't have to walk on eggshells around you

In fear of accidentally setting you off.

I shouldn't have to change who I am to something new.

I shouldn't have to think about this, not again.

I shouldn't have to worry about if I did something wrong

Because you've always put the blame on me.

I shouldn't have to hate my life each day.

I shouldn't have to visit this dark place

I shouldn't let you get to me this way

I shouldn't dread seeing you

Or what you say about me when I'm not there. 

So I won't. Not anymore.
