The sky looked down on earth one day,
he saw such sights below,
empty space where forests stood,
saw dirty rivers flow.
He called the clouds to have a look,
they growled at such a sight.
Unable to contain their grief
they cried with all their might.
The sky looked down one afternoon
and gasped in sad surprise.
He called the clouds,"come here and see.
You won't believe your eyes!".
Sweet little seals lay on a beach,
bleeding, dead and dying.
The sight deep shocked the heavenly ones
setting them both crying.
The sky looked down one summer's day,
upon the human race
polluting all their atmosphere,
dismayed at such disgrace.
He beckoned clouds, complaining ,"now
they're poking holes in me!"
He called the sun to punish them,
sun burned them fiercely.
The sky looked down one winter's day,
too weary now to cry,
saw ice shelves floating in the sea.
No need to wonder why.
A tear-soaked cloud with face depressed
joined him looking down.
They watched the ocean claim the land,
they watched the islands drown.
