Hope in the Aftermath

In Turkey and Syria, the earth did shake,

A disaster that no one could mistake,

Houses crumbled, buildings fell apart

Leaving each with a broken heart.

The cries of pain, the sounds of fear

Echoed through the streets, far and near,

Families searched for their loved ones lost

In the rubble, at any cost.

They were the victims of Mother Nature's wrath

In moments of peace, they met their path,

Their homes and lives forever did change

By a force beyond their control and range.

Let us not forget the victims of the quake,

Their struggles and their losses that we must undertake,

For they deserve our support and our love,

As they rebuild their lives, hand in glove.

For they are the brave, they are the strong,

Their stories will live on, forever long

And when the world forgets, so does our posterity,

Their memory will be etched in eternity!
