don't know why you had to

break free

I'm realizing it was me

sending mixed signals

without any knowledge

pushing you closer to the edge

you weren't honest with me

about what you felt

leaving me all by myself

your feelings were important

but you wanted to be alone

as I poured my heart out in poems

you waited until

I was deeply in love

to tell me what you were thinking of

you kept me in the dark

for way too long

making me think I was wrong

you were in my heart

a special friend of mine

but it was all one big lie

alienating me

when you needed me most

telling me you had to go

it's all my fault, I feel

as you pull away from me

don't know why you had

to break free ..
