I cried for you today
and as your umbrella
protected you from my tears,
you still ignored me.
My heart was broken
and cause an earthquake
a million miles away.
I clapped my hands
to catch your attention
and even though
you heard the thunder roll,
you still ignored me.
I turned my head
to wipe my tears
and caused a hurricane
two states north of you.
I placed my thumb
in front of my light bulb
to create what you call...
an eclipse,
but you still ignored me.
My tears froze
as they fell from my eyes
but you didn’t even thank me,
for the snow day.
I sighed and caused the breeze
that made you smile,
so I blew a little more
and the cotton balls you call clouds,
flew twenty miles away.
You remembered me!
You told me thank you
and I could have sworn,
that I saw the sunrise in your eyes.
But you were looking at me.
My heart was so full of joy,
I closed my eyes
to let the tears fall...
the sun set early
and it rained again.
You still smiled...
and said thank you.
You remembered me!
You told me you loved me
and the words sent chills up my spine—
it snowed again.
You made an angel in the snow
and told me that one day
you’d have wings of your own.
I clapped my hands
as I laughed—
the earth shook
and the thunder rolled.
You smiled and said you needed
to remodel your house anyway.
I blew you a kiss
and although the trees bent—
you caught it on
your cheek and blushed.
The sun rose in your eyes again
and I loved you so much,
that I decided it was time
for your sun to set.
And as I watched your eyes
close one more time,
I took a deep breath.
When I inhaled
your soul flew up to me
like a moth drawn to a flame.
You smiled when you saw me
and the sun rose again.
It was so good to have you home,
that we had a party in your honor.
We made so much noise,
we caused the planets
to form a new line.
You smiled and still said thank you.
I smiled and said... “you’re welcome”.
I KNOW
PAIN LIKE THIS TO :*(
