-A Lonely Lady

A  Lonely Lady

A lonely lady,

she stands upon the cliffs

a hundred feet above the rocky shore.

Watching  storm tossed seas

and fog shrouded beaches.

Endlessly waiting

as the tides ebb and flow.

Her voice was silenced years ago,

and no longer calls to those at sea.

But in the night she shines

with her comforting light.

But to those who think

she beckons closer,

she warns....

Stay away from the shore,

lest destruction be your folly.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Point Montara Lighthouse, a 30 ft structure set on the cliff, 70 feet above the sea.  No longer sounds her fog horn, but still lights the way.

a beautyfull piece of imagination
a light house is imagined as a lonley lady
kat, your imagination is going up and up in the sky
even above the light house,
is there a bit of yu, in this poem ?
if the reader is also made to imagine
then it is the merit of the poet....
keep it up....my dear poet.
