Waiting for the Daisys

Folder:
~A~

Winter has long since faded,

springtime has arrived

New grass is growing,

daffodils in bloom

But I'm waiting for the daisys

Wild rambling roses

under canopies of green

Violets peeking out

from under brown leaves

Still, I'm waiting for the daisys

Roses by the dozens---

long stems and red.

Carnations in green tissue

bought at the corner store.

But still, I'm waiting for the daisys

Driving home up the windy road,

wild summer daisys along the way.

With a smile you stop, collect a few

and bring them home to me.

Now I have my daisys!

Author's Notes/Comments:

I just love daisys!  And they seems so much more special picked from the side of the road.

BTW, I know daisys is spelled 'daisies', but for some odd reason I like it spelled the other way...and that's the way it will be for me.  :)

Rabelais, (1495~~1553) wrote a catchy phrase in his "Works", book 1, ch. 10: "...hope to catch the larks, if e'er the sky should fall..." Sort of reminded me just how I'd like to end my life, as the ESCHATON (Time's last event) happens. Care to join me?? : : : :
ESCHATON

.....and I shall love thee
until the heavens fall;
and then ask thee:
"Join me??
Help me catch the stars....
......ALL ! ! ? ?

"Poe" I'm not, nor "Rich" am I,
