I imagine myself an old woman one day
sitting in my rocking chair on the porch.
Holding my book of memories, my treasure.
Remembering love and times past.
My heart overjoyed, so glad I found you,
for you are unique, there is no one like you.
How I gave to you alone, a special place in my heart.
You captured all of me with that one kiss, that dance,
that I will replay eternally in my mind (in your arms)
These memories are ours alone to savor.
I hope you too, will remember them fondly.
Author's Notes/Comments:
A former love once asked me, what I do with all the correspondence we shared. I told him I had saved each and every one (to his shock, I'm sure) and that one day when I am an old woman, I will sit in my rocking chair, reread every one, and fondly remember him.
