My Pebble Into God's Pond

I love to sit by the pond  late in the spring

The waters over flowing, trees in full leaf.

Watching the beginings of a brand new day

It's a small reminder of God's creation.

Sitting in the subdued sunlight peeking thru the trees

Listening to the simple sounds of nature awakening

Birds chirping, woodland critters stirring

Moving within the safety of the woods

It sets the seeds of contentment.

This special place that revives tired spirits,

spurs the imagination, and invites dreams.

How nature's own beauty sustains us!

Tossing pebbles into the water, thinking to myself

as each one slices into the reflection,

we are individual servants, pebbles of God

Just one pebble at a time into God's pond.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Okay!  Ten words and a title from Teddy.  The words.....SAFE,  SPIRIT,  SELF, SLICE,  SPUR SERVANT, SUBDUE, SIMPLE,  SUSTAIN., SEED.
So Teddy, what's with all the 'S' words???

I think this makes my 100th poem.....a new milestone for me!

I have written this critique twice and it just disappears. This is the last time. LOL I really like this poem because it reminds me of the way I like to spend lazy summer days. JUST GIVE ME PLENTY OF "OFF" AND ANY OTHER REPELLENT handy. LOL I love sitting in the woods, walking on trails, skimming rocks on the lake, etc. And what you have done with your version of this poem is exceptional. It places me in the scene. Love your work.
