As the evening advances wispy pink clouds
adorn the turquoise sky.
He ponders the walls of the citadel.
Not even they can keep me from my love.
He scales the wall and drops silently
to the tiled floor below.
In this dusky interlude between day and night
he seeks out her chambers.
His thoughts galore of ruby red lips-
stick in his mind.
And kisses, oh the kisses!
More plentiful than all the grapes
of yonder vineyard.
Soon, all to be his, when the sun sets
below the flaming horizon,
and passion, illuminates the night.
