God of the Shadows

The wretched shadows of the deep are mine;

All loathsome spirits mine to call at will;

My power, death and suffering entwined;

Brings agony, my pleasure to fulfill.

In deepest chasm, in black abyss I lurk;

Seeking to quench my thirst, my lust for blood;

My victims, those who from all evil shirk;

Share gruesome fates, my tribute as a god.

All hellfire cannot judge against my wrath;

No mortal creature from its might can flee

Save those who journey on my deadly path;

And doom their souls for all eternity.

Chaos, my name, my being manifest;

I reign supreme til time is laid to rest.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this partially to scare my English teacher (who, unfortunately, was completely unperturbed), but mostly because I was aggravated with my 10th grade classmates for churning out horribly sappy love sonnets.  I think one of my inspirations at the time was the fire monster thingy, I forgot what its name is, from the LOTR trilogy.
