I heard you tonight

Bring your situation to light

I think your rationale is stupid

I think you're not lucid.



I can't understand how you're thinking

While you're relationship is obviously sinking

Relationships aren't supposed to be so hard

You're still at a kiss and a card.



Work comes after the beginning

After the triumph subsides from winning

Don't try so hard when it's easy to see

That you and her aren't working, even to me.



With her I've never seen you smile

When your band played she walked a mile

As she left she started to laugh

She thought you all were a gaffe.



I've heard you on the phone with her

I can only imagine her responses "whatever" and "sure"

She's not trying hard enough from her side

She's making you swim twice as wide.



You're swimming upstream

She's making me want to scream

I understand your want for it

You and I are both looking for the same shit.



I don't see the rumors in you

I see what you expose to few

I see it in your face

I see it in your personal space.



I understand wanting to make it work

But it shouldn't include a person with a smirk

A relationship is a two way street

And guys aren't the only ones who'll walk over you with their feet.



Girls can be users too

Especially when they won't try to see you

She's walking over you like a carpet

And there's nothing I can do to stop it.



All I can do is sit here and write this

And hope sometimes that wishes

Can come true through all the hullabaloo

And maybe, just maybe, we can be me and you.
